Green Peppers

I forgot one. My green peppers that are also doing very nice.

Squash , Zuccihni, Cucumbers

They are doing really well and they all have tons of little spouts. I can't wait to get some Zucchini. I have yet to separate them and now I'm afraid of losing the blooms if I do. So I'm not sure what I will do.
These are the beans right now. I know I need to replant them soon. I just bought the dirt yesterday for that.

My lettuce. It is coming in nice. I have had a couple spots die though because leaves blow in and lay on the lettuce.

Cauliflower & Broccoli. I'm not sure what to think of these yet. I have never raised them so I'm not sure how they grow. I guess I will find out later.

Tomtoes

For the most part my garden is now plated although I need to move the bean plants and some of the squash and cucumbers. I don't know if I will move the S & C but I definitely need to move the beans. Everything else is forever looking toward the sun and rising to there challenge of growth. lol.. anyways. They are looking really good. For the last 2 days we have been getting alot of rain and wind. I had been procrastinating on putting stakes around my tomato plants so they all blow over in the down poor yesterday. I live in a small town and ended up only being able to purchase 5 tomato cages and some small teki poles to stake them back up with. O well the job is done.

I think they look cute. These are the Cherry Tomatoes..

Here are the Big boys & the Better boys. (Tomatoes) I know they look a little droopy but they will perk back up. They went through a lot yesterday.
All of the tomato plants have tons of blooms and I don't even think they lost any yesterday when they fell over. So I can't wait for that first tomato. Although I wish I would have purchased Roma or plum tomato plant and I forgot to. Oops...

it has taken me forever to up date this blog. I have been very busy. My garden also took forever to get planted. Most of it didn't get planted till the 11th and I still have a few things to plant. I planted Big Boy Tomatoes, Better Boy tomatoes, Cherry tomatoes, Red bell papers, squash, some zuccinhi, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, blueberry's. Those are the plants that are started. I also got the urge to plant bush beans the other day. So I have just planted Green & purple Bush beans. So we will see how long it will take them to start sprouting. Here are some up dates pictures.

Wow.. How fast they grow....

Pumpkin

This the first sprouting pumpkin vine. I am very excited about the garden this summer. They Squash vines are getting tall as well. I have one 35 cucumber plants. 3 cantaloupes, 2 watermelon, some herbs, even some catnip sprouts. The garden is turning out great. But I still do not have all the organic soil and planting beds done. Actually the only one I actually made so far was to plant lettuce. So I need to really get to work on that. Its just finding the time and money to do it.

Are those dixie cups?

Yes.... They are. I know strange as it may seem it saved me some money. I don't like buying those stupid planters when all you do is throw them away when the plant gets big enough. What a waste. So I didn't spend $20.00 or $30.00. I spent $3.00 on like 500 cups.
I keep a small garden each year. This year it is increasing from around 10 ( I know very small) to around 100-200 plants. Big jump. That's because I moved and now have the space to do it. So this blog will be about small town gardening.
Right now my plants have been planted for 3 days. I bring them in every night so they don't freeze. (Its still getting down till around 30F at night). Which means every night I have to carry every plant in. Right now that isn't bad. I only have 3 big containers and 4 other plants. But I am going to buy more seeds this week.
Being in the house means cat attacks so the plants are locked away in the bathroom. But that doesn't always mean safety as I found out today. The bathroom door was pushed open by a cat and 3 cups of plants got knocked over and drug around. But I do at least know the seeds have sprouted. I am so so very happy to know. Last year I planted 30 expensive planters and not one came up. So this year I know at least some of them have sprouted.
It is still to early to get the pregrown plants here. I will get tomatoes and green peppers when they do. The early plants are out though so I have bought 6 Cauliflower and 6 Broccoli.
I also bought a blueberry plant.
I have yet to lay the ground work for the garden itself. I know how stupid right. I am going to buy all new organic top soil. (My land was filled in will fill dirt a couple years ago. So its rocky and really isn't good planting ground. So.) Any ways. I will probably cut this post later and I will post the pics of my plant arrangement.
