As the keeper of a garden I am very excited to say that the first sprouts are finally showing. The first 3 are Raddishes, Turnups, & 1 little sprout of Parsley.
Yes.... They are. I know strange as it may seem it saved me some money. I don't like buying those stupid planters when all you do is throw them away when the plant gets big enough. What a waste. So I didn't spend $20.00 or $30.00. I spent $3.00 on like 500 cups. I keep a small garden each year. This year it is increasing from around 10 ( I know very small) to around 100-200 plants. Big jump. That's because I moved and now have the space to do it. So this blog will be about small town gardening. Right now my plants have been planted for 3 days. I bring them in every night so they don't freeze. (Its still getting down till around 30F at night). Which means every night I have to carry every plant in. Right now that isn't bad. I only have 3 big containers and 4 other plants. But I am going to buy more seeds this week. Being in the house means cat attacks so the plants are locked away in the bathroom. But that doesn't always mean safety as I found out today. The bathroom door was pushed open by a cat and 3 cups of plants got knocked over and drug around. But I do at least know the seeds have sprouted. I am so so very happy to know. Last year I planted 30 expensive planters and not one came up. So this year I know at least some of them have sprouted. It is still to early to get the pregrown plants here. I will get tomatoes and green peppers when they do. The early plants are out though so I have bought 6 Cauliflower and 6 Broccoli. I also bought a blueberry plant. I have yet to lay the ground work for the garden itself. I know how stupid right. I am going to buy all new organic top soil. (My land was filled in will fill dirt a couple years ago. So its rocky and really isn't good planting ground. So.) Any ways. I will probably cut this post later and I will post the pics of my plant arrangement.
